Your Data Never Leaves Your Browser
All code formatting, validation, and processing happens 100% locally in your browser. We never send your code or data to any server.
Why This Matters
In November 2025, security researchers discovered that popular online formatter tools like JSONFormatter.org and CodeBeautify were inadvertently exposing user data through their "Recent Links" feature. Sensitive credentials including AWS keys, database passwords, and API tokens were publicly accessible.
This cannot happen with FmtAny because we don't have servers that receive your data. Everything stays in your browser.
How We Protect Your Privacy
- No Server Uploads: All processing happens client-side using JavaScript
- No Data Collection: We don't collect, store, or transmit any of your code
- No Tracking: No Google Analytics, no advertising cookies, no fingerprinting
- Works Offline: After initial load, the tool works without internet
Local Storage
We use browser local storage to save your formatting history for convenience. This data is stored only on your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings or by using the clear history function in our tool.
Verify It Yourself
You can verify our privacy claims:
- Open your browser's Developer Tools (F12 or Cmd+Option+I)
- Go to the Network tab
- Use the tool to format some code
- You'll see no requests sent with your code data

- ❌ We don't create shareable links with your data
- ❌ We don't use third-party analytics services
- ❌ We don't sell or share any user data
